Knock Out PD Boxing

About

Boxing is a noncontact exercise program aimed at alleviating symptoms of Parkinson’s disease. Boxing requires a combination of endurance, strength, power, speed, agility, flexibility, hand-eye coordination, and aerobic training — all of which are useful for people with Parkinson’s. Boxing classes are done in a group setting to promote camaraderie and support, as well as to maintain long-term participation in a high-intensity workout program.

Boxing classes are divided into different levels based upon each person’s unique Parkinson’s symptoms and overall level of fitness. We require all potential boxers to complete an assessment with one of our coaches to determine the class placement that would be of greatest benefit to them.

All new class participants must have an assessment prior to starting any exercise class. Registration is required for all classes. Call Patty Hatton at (602) 406-3840 or email Patrice.Hatton@DignityHealth.org to schedule an assessment or register for classes.
