About
Although caring for someone you love can be very rewarding, it also can be a tough and demanding role, compounded further by limited information and resources. The following courses are designed to provide useful information and interactive exercises and tools targeted toward your wellbeing as a caregiver.
The following classes have been scheduled sequentially at each location listed below so that caregivers may participate in one or all of the classes:
Caring For You, Caring For Me
Developed by the Rosalynn Carter Institute for Caregiving this educational and supportive program is for people who are caring for individuals with a disability. The 5-week program provides caregivers with an opportunity to gain information on being a caregiver an opportunity to
- Gain information on being a caregiver and what that role entails
- Learn methods of coping with the stresses and strains of being a caregiver
- Learn about resources available to them
- Discover ways of communicating and working together to reduce some of the frustrations and barriers they face in their caregiver roles
- Share common concerns and feelings
- Recognize that they are not alone and how to learn from their emotions
