Meet Our New Faculty – Summer 2020

Barrow Neurological Institute welcomed several new faculty members this summer in the departments of neurobiology, neurology, neurosurgery, neuroradiology, and radiation oncology. Get to know them below:

Department of Neurobiology

Saif Ahmad, PhD

Saif Ahmad, PhD, is an assistant professor in the Department of Neurobiology at Barrow Neurological Institute. Dr. Ahmad earned his doctorate in biotechnology from Hamdard University in New Delhi, India, and his Master of Science in organic chemistry from Mahatma Jyotiba Phule Rohilkhand University in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, India. He began his postdoctoral fellowship in the Program in Molecular Medicine at the University of Massachusetts Medical School in Worcester. Portrait of Ping Wang, PhDPing Wang, PhD

Ping Wang, PhD, is an associate professor in the Neuroimaging Innovation Center at Barrow Neurological Institute. Dr. Wang earned his master’s degree in electronic engineering from the North China Institute of Technology in Sanhe. He earned his doctorate in information and communication from the School of Electronic and Information Engineering at Xi’an Jiaotong University in Xi’an Shaanxi, China. He completed postdoctoral research fellowships in the Department of Radiation Oncology at Wake Forest University School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina and at the Vanderbilt University Institute of Imaging in Nashville, Tennessee. Department of Neurology 

Portrait of Yonas Geda, MDYonas Geda, MD

Yonas Geda, MD, is a psychiatrist and behavioral neurologist in the Alzheimer’s and Memory Disorders Program and a professor in the Department of Neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in psychiatry by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in behavioral neurology and neuropsychiatry by the United Council for Neurologic Subspecialties. Dr. Geda earned his medical degree from Addis Ababa (Haile Selassie) University in Ethiopia. He also earned a Master of Science degree in biomedical science and clinical research at Mayo Clinic College of Medicine and Science in Rochester, Minnesota as a National Institutes of Health Research Scientist Career Development scholar. Following his psychiatry residency at Mayo Clinic, Dr. Geda completed a behavioral neurology fellowship as a Mayo Foundation Scholar at Mayo Clinic in Minnesota. Read full bio.

Michael Robers, MD

Michael Robers, MD, is a neurologist in the Multiple Sclerosis Program and an assistant professor in the Department of Neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. Dr. Robers earned his medical degree from Loyola University Chicago Stritch School of Medicine and a master’s degree in clinical, biomedical, and translational investigations from the University of Southern California in Los Angeles. He completed his neurology residency at Barrow Neurological Institute and a fellowship in multiple sclerosis and neuro-immunology at the University of Southern California Keck School of Medicine. Kevin King, MSCSKevin King, MD, MSCS

Kevin King, MD, MSCS, is a neuroradiologist at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in diagnostic radiology and neuroradiology by the American Board of Radiology. Dr. King earned his medical degree from the Health Sciences and Technology Joint Medical Program at Harvard-Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. Department of Neurosurgery

Ashutosh Jadhav, MD, PhD

Ashutosh Jadhav, MD PhD, is a vascular and interventional neurologist at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. He also holds a certification in neurocritical care from the United Council of Neurologic Subspecialties and in neuroendovascular surgery from the Society of Neurological Surgeons Committee on Advanced Subspecialty Training. Dr. Jadhav earned his PhD in genetics from Harvard University and his medical degree from the Harvard-MIT Program in Health Sciences and Technology in Boston. He completed his neurology residency at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston. David Wilson, MD, is a neurosurgeon at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Neurological Surgery. Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree from the Columbia University Vagelos College of Physicians and Surgeons. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Barrow Neurological Institute and a fellowship in endoscopic and skull base neurosurgery at the Centre for Minimally Invasive Neurosurgery at Prince of Wales Hospital in Sydney, Australia.
