Go Virtually Inside Spine Surgery
The Sonntag Spine Center and Neuroscience Publications Department at Barrow have teamed up to bring spine surgery simulation to neurosurgery residency training through virtual reality. The immersive 3D training application augments residents’ understanding of spinal anatomy, fluoroscopy, and pedicle screw placement. Residents can virtually place screws in the spine and receive metrics regarding their performance. The app and 3D models were built from scratch at Barrow.
