Elise Henling is the Nursing Education Specialist for the Barrow Rehabilitation Center. She is a Certified Rehabilitation Registered Nurse (CRRN). Her main interest is in the area of Traumatic Brain Injury, especially as it relates to behavior management. She is a member of the Association of Rehabilitation Nurses.
Elise began her career in rehabilitation as a staff nurse, and shortly thereafter she became the clinical nursing supervisor for rehabilitation. She has been instrumental in preparing the rehabilitation programs for CARF accreditation and preparing many staff for their CRRN certification. Elise loves rehabilitation because she sees patients come in dependent on staff and caregivers for all of their needs and leave at a higher functional level. Her role goes beyond educating; she is an advocate, coordinator, counselor, and cheerleader for patients and staff.
Elise is a native of Arizona. She grew up in Northern Arizona and attended Yavapai College, where she earned her Associates Degree in Nursing in 2004. She went on to earn her BS in nursing from Grand Canyon University in 2007.
