Justine Chan, MD, is a neurologist in the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center and an assistant professor of neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute. She is board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.

Dr. Chan specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of movement disorders, including essential tremor, Parkinson’s disease and Parkinsonian syndromes, Huntington’s disease, dystonia, ataxia, and functional movement disorders. She manages patients with hemifacial spasm, blepharospasm, cervical and limb dystonia, spasticity, sialorrhea, and refractory tremor using deep brain stimulation and botulinum toxin. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Medical Association, the International Neuropalliative Care Society, and the International Parkinson and Movement Disorder Society.

Dr. Chan earned her medical degree from the Creighton University School of Medicine in Omaha. She completed both her neurology residency and a movement disorders fellowship at Barrow Neurological Institute.

Dr. Chan’s interests include palliative care for patients with Parkinson’s disease and atypical Parkinsonism. She is passionately involved in the Muhammad Ali Legacy Care Program. Through this multidisciplinary palliative care clinic, she aims to improve outcomes and quality of life for patients, improve patient and caregiver education, and ease caregiver burden. She is also a Barrow Palliative Care Champion in a nationwide implementation project in growing palliative care at all Parkinson Foundation Centers of Excellence.
