Krista Hanson, PhD, is a faculty neuropsychologist in the Department of Neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute. She is board certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology in the specialty of clinical neuropsychology.
Dr. Hanson’s expertise includes geriatric neuropsychology and the assessment of mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and other neurodegenerative disorders. She also sees patients with movement disorders and conducts pre- and post-DBS evaluations. She is a member of the American Psychological Association.
Dr. Hanson received her doctorate and completed her internship from the University of Arizona in clinical psychology. She completed her fellowship in clinical neuropsychology at Barrow Neurological Institute.
Dr. Hanson’s research studies include investigating the differences between pathological and non-pathological cognitive aging with an emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease, pre-Alzheimer’s cognitive decline, and healthy cognitive aging.
