    Research Technician

    Layla received her BS in molecular biosciences and biotechnology from Arizona State University. During her undergraduate career, she was a member of Dr. Kendall Van Keuren-Jensen’s laboratory at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen), where she researched and validated small RNA biomarker candidates for neurodegenerative diseases such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS).

    Layla’s research at Barrow focuses on identifying novel targeting ligands to improve the delivery of nanoparticle-encapsulated drugs across the blood brain barrier.
