Rebecca Cook received her BS in molecular and cellular biology from the University of Arizona, where she also worked in an evolutionary biology lab under the guidance of Dr. Nancy Moran. After graduating, she began research in a high-throughput genotyping laboratory and a cancer and cell biology laboratory at the Translational Genomics Research Institute (TGen). Rebecca joined the Sirianni Lab in 2011 as a research technician and laboratory manager. In 2014, she transferred to the Biological Design PhD Program at Arizona State University.
Rebecca hopes to improve the treatment of glioblastoma, with a focus on taking advantage of the body’s natural systems to aid in therapy and avoid unnecessary toxicity to the patient. She is co-advised by Dr. Joseph Blattman at ASU, where her work has an emphasis on engaging the immune system to specifically recognize and clear tumors using targeted immunotherapies.
