Dr. Michael Lawton Talks Recovery After White Sox Pitcher’s Ruptured Aneurysm

The Chicago Tribune interviewed Dr. Michael Lawton about brain hemorrhage recovery for an article on White Sox pitcher Danny Farquhar. The pitcher collapsed in the dugout during a game and was treated for a ruptured aneurysm.

Dr. Lawton has treated more than 4,000 aneurysms and become a world-renowned expert in the treatment of cerebrovascular disorders.

He says that while someone may seem fine, it generally takes at least six months to recover from a brain hemorrhage and fully regain executive functions (cognition, memory, and decision-making ability).
