NPR Features Domestic Violence Program at Barrow Concussion & Brain Injury Center

NPR affiliate KJZZ spoke to Barrow concussion expert Dr. Glynnis Zieman and social worker Ashley Bridwell about brain injuries in domestic violence survivors and the program Barrow created to help these patients.

The Barrow Concussion & Brain Injury Center works with local domestic violence and homeless shelters to identify women and men with possible brain injuries. These individuals receive free evaluation and treatment at Barrow, regardless of their insurance coverage.

“The domestic violence patients are the next chapter of brain injury,” Zieman said.
