Purpose

This study will test a new deep brain stimulation (DBS) site that is expected to better address these features of Parkinson’s disease.

Who Can Participate

Parkinson’s disease patients that are discussing deep brain stimulation therapy with their physician and have difficulties with gait, balance, or falls can participate in the study.

Visits

Study participation is for a total of 5-9 visits over 27 months. All subjects will still receive deep brain stimulation leads in the normal site as well to control symptoms such as tremor. Half of study subjects will receive deep brain stimulation at this new site.
