    Research Projects: Chang Lab

    The structural dynamics underlying GABA-receptor function and modulation using several newly established site-specific fluorescent and photochemical techniques, combined with electrophysiological, molecular biological, and computational modeling approaches. This research is supported by an R01 grant from the National Institutes of Health (NIH).

    Design and Study of New Nicotine Analogs for Use in Depression

    This is a collaborative project. Our laboratory, along with Dr. Ronald J Lukas’s and Dr. Jie Wu’s laboratories, joined A National Cooperative Drug Discovery Group to create novel antidepressants based on nicotinic ligands. This research is supported by a U19 grant from the National Institues of Health (NIH).
