					Melissa Braun, MD
Melissa Braun, DO, is a neuroanesthesiologist in the Department of Neuroanesthesiology at Barrow Neurological Institute. She also serves as the liaison between the Department and the Intensive Care Unit. She is board certified by the American Board of Anesthesiology.
Dr. Braun specializes in providing anesthesia care for patients undergoing complex neurosurgical procedures. She is a member of the American Society of Anesthesiologists, the Society for Neuroscience in Anesthesiology and Critical Care, and Women in Anesthesiology.
Dr. Braun earned her medical degree from the Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University in Glendale. She completed her anesthesiology residency at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in Chicago, Illinois.
Dr. Braun has a special interest the coordination of care between the Intensive Care Unit and the operating room. Her research projects include developing and refining a protocol to streamline the rapid, safe, and efficient transfer of patients from ICU to the OR in cases of extreme emergency situations.
