Akshay Muralidhar, MD, is a pulmonologist and the director of the Hereditary Hemorrhagic Telangiectasia (HHT) Program at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine in the specialties of internal medicine, pulmonary disease, and critical care medicine.

Dr. Muralidhar’s expertise includes the treatment of HHT complications in the lungs, including pulmonary hypertension. He is a member of the American College of Chest Physicians, the American Thoracic Society, and the Pulmonary Hypertension Association.

Dr. Muralidhar earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona, College of Medicine in Tucson. He completed his internal medicine residency at Loyola University Medical Center in Maywood, Illinois, and a pulmonary and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Colorado Hospital in Aurora.

Dr. Muralidhar’s research interests involve pulmonary vascular disease, specifically pulmonary vascular physiology and right ventricle pulmonary artery coupling. He also has a strong interest in clinical trial research involving both pulmonary hypertension and HHT.
