Get With The Guidelines® Award

St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, home to Barrow Neurological Institute’s Petznick Stroke Center, has earned the 2023 Get With The Guidelines® Stroke Gold Plus Achievement Award with Target: Stroke Honor Roll and Target: Type 2 Diabetes Honor Roll. This award from the American Heart Association and the American Stroke Association recognizes the Institute’s commitment to applying the most current evidence-based treatment guidelines for stroke to improve patient care and outcomes in the community.

NIH R01 Grant

Tomoki Hashimoto, MD, has received a five-year R01 grant from the National Institute on Aging, which is part of the the National Institutes of Health (NIH), totaling $3 million to study the roles of aging and cellular senescence in the pathophysiology of intracranial aneurysm.

Creighton School of Medicine Executive Committee

Susan Criswell, MD, MSCI, a physician-scientist in the Department of Neurology at Barrow, has been elected to serve on the Creighton University School of Medicine Executive Committee for a two-year term. The committee’s responsibilities include overseeing governance, policies, and approval of faculty appointments for the School of Medicine.
