D-backs Pitcher Evan Marshall Makes Comeback After Recovering at Barrow

Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Evan Marshall, a Barrow patient, was featured in the San Jose Mercury News for his recovery from a life-threatening head injury and his comeback to baseball.

Marshall was hit by a line drive traveling 105 mph while pitching for the Triple-A Reno Aces in El Paso. The ball struck the side of his head and fractured his skull.

Eight months later, Marshall has returned to the pitcher’s mound and is stronger than ever. Trainers coordinated his recovery with Barrow staff, who catered brain exercises around baseball.
