Barrow Neuroscience Bootcamp

About the Young Scholar Program

Are you intrigued by the human brain? Are you interested in learning more about how scientists study it and how doctors treat it? 

This four-day program will provide high school students with the opportunity to learn about ongoing research and clinical approaches to study and treat brain disorders. In addition to lectures provided by Barrow scientists and clinicians, students will have the opportunity to tour Barrow research laboratories.

  • Public transportation vouchers are available
  • Breakfast and lunch are included 

Please note: Not all applicants will be accepted to the program. 

Joining the Program

If you would like to participate, please fill out the application during the open period and include a one-page personal statement on why you would like to attend and how it may benefit your future goals. School transcripts and a letter of recommendation are not required. Please note that not all applicants will be selected for the program, and all applicants will receive their decision at the end of February. The program will run from March 15-18, 2027.

Application Deadlines

  • January 4th, 2027: Application opens
  • February 5th, 2027: Application closes
  • Last week of February: Students will be notified of their selection or not via email
