Microvascular Bypass Workshop

Course Objectives

  • Learn and review surgical techniques of extracranial-intracranial and intracranial-intracranial bypass
  • Review clinical surgical examples of low-flow EC-IC and IC-IC to learn pearls and limitations
  • Review clinical surgical examples of high-flow EC-IC and IC-IC to learn pearls and limitations
  • Practice surgical techniques for anastomosis and bypass creation in various surgical models in the laboratory

Expected Outcomes

  • Familiarization of bypass techniques through teaching and discussion of surgical case examples as mentored and observed by the faculty
  • Accomplishment and advancement of practical surgical techniques in the laboratory as mentored and observed by the faculty
