Lauren Gittings, PhD

Postdoctoral Fellow

Lauren Gittings graduated from the University of Bath (U.K.) with a Bachelor of Science in Natural Sciences in 2014. She then went on to do her graduate studies at University College London (U.K.), where she used iPSC models and post-mortem tissue to study the role of the dipeptide repeat proteins in C9orf72-linked FTD and ALS. Dr. Gittings graduated with a PhD in Neurodegeneration in 2018 and then moved to the U.S. to join the Sattler lab. Her research interests lie in identifying molecular and cellular signatures that influence the development of cognitive impairment in ALS patients carrying the C9orf72 mutation.
