Finding Funding Opportunities Utilizing PIVOT
Barrow Neurological Institute and St. Joseph’s Hospital & Medical Center continue to subscribe to ProQuest Pivot. Pivot is a web-based funding opportunities and scholars database, updated daily, that allows users to receive results of funding opportunities in a variety of ways. Some of its capabilities include:
- Information on multiple funding sources including government, institutions, foundations and corporate, including international opportunities, covering all disciplines.
- Users can create searches tailored to their specific needs and receive weekly alerts that match their saved searches.
- Account holders can create groups for sharing funding opportunities on an ongoing basis.
- The program integrates funding and locating collaborators into one tool by allowing investigators to search profiles for potential collaboration, and share opportunities with colleagues.
- Makes recommendations for funding based on the investigator’s profile.
- Updated regularly to add new information associated with a scholar’s profile and drops off expired opportunities
- Pivot contains a Papers Invited section to the database, which is a comprehensive collection of calls for papers issued by professional bodies, journal editors and conference organizers.
- Pivot and ORCID citations are synced.
