Arizona Republic Profiles Neuroscience Nurse Practitioner Virginia Prendergast

The Arizona Republic profiled Barrow nurse practitioner Virginia Prendergast, who began working at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center 40 years ago—the same hospital she toured as a 5-year-old with her heart already set on a nursing career.

Dr. Prendergast is a certified neuroscience nurse and an acute care nurse practitioner with a doctorate degree. She oversees Barrow’s team of neuroscience nurses and is internationally known for her work and leadership in neuroscience nursing education, research, and the care of neurosurgical patients.
