Joint Commission Certification

Barrow Neurological Institute, in partnership with St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center, has again received The Joint Commission’s Disease-Specific Care Certification for both Traumatic Brain Injury and Spinal Cord Injury. This distinction recognizes our commitment to excellence and providing outstanding quality care using the best evidence-based practice. Barrow/St. Joseph’s remains the only acute care hospital in the United States to achieve both certifications.

SMISS Award

Juan Uribe, MD, chief of the division of spinal disorders at Barrow, received the Lateral Access Surgery Pioneer Award at the Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (SMISS) Annual Forum. Healthcare Marketing Award

BarrowNeuro.org received a Bronze Award in the “Website Campaign” category of Modern Healthcare‘s Marketing Impact Awards. The Barrow Marketing Department launched the new website last November in partnership with emagine, with the goal of bringing the patient experience to the forefront.
