Man with Arteriovenous Malformation Travels from China to See Dr. Robert Spetzler

A man who traveled to Phoenix from China to undergo brain surgery at Barrow returned recently for his first postoperative appointment and thanked Neurosurgeon Dr. Robert Spetzler for the successful surgery.

In June 2015, a doctor at Zhongshan Hospital in Xiamen, China found that Jason Rosow had an arteriovenous malformation, an abnormal tangle of blood vessels, in his brain. Dr. Tian Xinhua wrote a prescription that was in Chinese, but Rosow was able to make out the name “Spetzler.”
