What are Spinal AVMs/ Fistulas?

Spinal arteriovenous malformations (AVMs) and spinal fistulae are abnormal formations of blood vessels or abnormal connections between blood vessels in and around the spinal cord. They can cause hemorrhaging or loss of blood flow to the spinal cord, which can cause permanent neurological damage.
