    Rory Murphy, MD, is a neurosurgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute.

    Dr. Murphy’s expertise includes peripheral nerve surgery and the treatment of cervical myelopathy, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, brain tumors, and spinal tumors. He is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the American Society for Stereotactic and Functional Neurosurgery, and the Congress of Neurosurgeons.

    Dr. Murphy earned his medical degree from University College Cork in Ireland. He completed his neurosurgery residency at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, which is affiliated with Washington University in St. Louis, and a clinical fellowship in functional neurosurgery at the University of California-San Francisco.

    Dr. Murphy’s research focuses on cervical pathologies, brain and spinal tumors, spinal cord injury, and traumatic brain injury. He is particularly interested in new surgical techniques and post-operative recovery.
