Expressive Arts
About
Painting Workshops
Our painting workshops invite people living with PD and their care partners to join an artistic journey with artist and college professor Gregory Pearce. Participants can improve their composition skills and painting approaches to a variety of subjects. At the same time they will have the opportunity to enter “the art zone” and experience a pleasurable and relaxed state of mindfulness. Other benefits include increased sense of achievement and reduced stress and anxiety levels. Sessions will be six-weeks long.
Registration is required to attend classes. No experience is needed to participate in Expressive Arts.
Class fee is $30 per person, per session, or $50 per couple, per session. Materials are included.
Creative Craft Workshop
Crafting and creating is not only fun but research has shown it helps to improve mental health, maintain fine motor skills, boost self-confidence, improve problem-solving skills and reduce stress for those with Parkinson’s. The Creative Craft Workshop will offer a different craft project each month. Please join us in having FUN while stimulating multiple areas of the brain. Materials for each class will be provided.
No crafting skills are needed but registration is required. This class will be offered bilingually in Spanish and English.
