Predicting Recovery After Stroke
Purpose
This study aims to improve our ability to predict recovery of motor functions after a stroke using a simple finger-tapping exercise. The study will also look at how changes in brain connectivity relate to recovery of motor and general functioning over time.
Why participate?
To help advance our understanding of neural recovery after stroke, which could help others with recovery from stroke in the future.
Who is eligible to participate?
Patients with a unilateral stroke involving the middle cerebral artery (or healthy family members) who are:
- Right-handed
- Between 55-80 years old
- Willing to complete questionnaires, brief neuropsychological testing, and a one-hour MRI scan
