Target ALS Cerebrovascular Function (MRI Sub-study)

The Target ALS MRI sub-study will use advanced magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) methods developed to measure neurovascular attributes, including functional MRI and cerebrovascular reactivity (CVR), in an effort to identify noninvasive biomarkers of cerebrovascular function.

People living with ALS and individuals without ALS or other neurological condition, who are also participating in the Target ALS Global Natural History Study, are potentially eligible to participate.

The goals of this project are to test if CVR can reliably distinguish between these groups, and investigate longitudinal differences in CVR in ALS disease progression. Additionally, this project will create a biorepository of neuroimaging data that is linked to clinical measures, genetic information, and biofluids that will be used for future research.
