Chul Han, PhD

Research Assistant Professor

Chul Han, PhD, is a research assistant professor in the Department of Translational Neuroscience at Barrow Neurological Institute. He works in Barrow Aneurysm and AVM Research Center.

Dr. Han received his doctorate in functional genomics and physiology from the University of Florida. There, in the laboratory of Dr. S. Paul Oh, he focused on the role of TGF-β/BMP signaling in the pathogenesis of genetic vascular diseases. As a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. Shinichi Someya, he investigated the mechanism of caloric restriction and roles of antioxidant enzymes in age-related hearing loss.

Dr. Han’s research interests include the development of preclinical mouse models for familial and sporadic brain AVMs using endothelial cell-specific inducible deletion of HHT genes and inducible expression of mutant KRAS protein.
