Clinical Neuropsychologist

Joseph Murthy, PsyD, is a clinical neuropsychologist in the Center for Transitional Neuro-Rehabilitation at Barrow Neurological Institute.

Dr. Murthy’s expertise includes neuropsychological assessments, psychotherapy, psychoeducation group therapy, and cognitive retraining for individuals with acquired brain injuries. He is a member of the American Academy of Clinical Neuropsychology and the American Psychological Association.

Dr. Murthy earned his doctorate in clinical psychology with a concentration in neuropsychology from the Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Washington, D.C. He also earned a master’s degree in clinical psychology from the Georgia School of Professional Psychology in Atlanta. He completed a postdoctoral fellowship in neuropsychology at Barrow.

Dr. Murthy’s research interests include psychosocial functioning after an acquired brain injury, psychosocial outcomes for individuals with an acquired brain injury after neuro-rehabilitation services, and medication management in treating behavioral changes after a brain injury.
