Kivanc Yangi, MD

Kivanc Yangi, MD, is a postdoctoral research fellow in The Loyal and Edith Davis Neurosurgical Research Laboratory in the Department of Neurosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute.

Dr. Yangi began his medical career in primary care before continuing his training in neurosurgery and neurosurgical research. He is a member of several neuroscience societies, including the American Association Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the European Association of Neurosurgical Societies, the North American Skull Base Society, and the Society for Neuro-Oncology.

Dr. Yangi is currently a chief neurosurgery resident at the University of Health Sciences in Istanbul, Turkey. He earned his medical degree from Istanbul University, where he also obtained an associate’s degree in health care management.

Dr. Yangi’s research interests include neurovascular surgery, neuro-oncology, and skull base surgery. His work focuses on integrating artificial intelligence and advanced imaging techniques into neurosurgical practice, postmortem in-situ tractography, and brainstem surgical approaches.
