Padma Mahant, MD, is a neurologist at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Center at Barrow Neurological Institute at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center in Phoenix. She is board certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
Dr. Mahant’s expertise includes diagnosis and management of movement disorders including Parkinson’s disease, essential tremor, dystonia, and ataxia. She is dedicated to helping each of her patients improve their quality of life. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the Parkinson’s Study Group, and the Movement Disorder Society.
Dr. Mahant received her medical degree from The Medical College of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia. She completed her residency in neurology at the University of Rochester Strong Memorial Hospital in Rochester, New York, and her fellowship in movement disorders at the Muhammad Ali Parkinson Research Center at Barrow.
Dr. Mahant’s research has included the study of risk factors for blepharospasm, improving posture and gait in Parkinson’s disease patients, and several clinical trials of pharmaceuticals to potentially treat Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.
