Scott Kreiner, MD, is a physiatrist and interventional spine specialist at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is board certified in physical medicine and rehabilitation and sports medicine by the American Board of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Kreiner specializes in the diagnosis and treatment of spinal disorders, with expertise in image-guided spine procedures, radiofrequency ablation, neuromodulation, vertebral augmentation, and other minimally invasive treatments for back and neck pain. His clinical interests also include sports-related spine injuries and vertebral compression fractures. Dr. Kreiner is a past president of the North American Spine Society and has held numerous leadership roles within the organization, including Chair of its Clinical Practice Guidelines Committee. He also served for six years on the Board of Directors of the International Pain and Spine Intervention Society, formerly the Spine Intervention Society, where he chaired the Health Policy Division. He is a member of the American Academy of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation.
Dr. Kreiner earned his medical degree from the University of Arizona College of Medicine and completed his residency in physical medicine and rehabilitation at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center.
Dr. Kreiner’s research interests include interventional spine care, neuromodulation, golf-related injuries, vertebral compression fractures, and the development of evidence-based approaches to the treatment of spinal pain.
