Dr. Brown-Shirley’s expertise includes sports neurology and traumatic brain injury. She is a member of the American Academy of Neurology, the American Headache Society, the Association of American Indian Physicians, the Child Neurology Society, and the International Brain Injury Association.

Dr. Brown-Shirley earned her medical degree from the University of New Mexico School of Medicine in Albuquerque, where she also received a Certificate of Public Health. She completed her residency in child neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute at Phoenix Children’s Hospital and a fellowship in sports neurology and traumatic brain injury at Barrow Neurological Institute at St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.

Dr. Brown-Shirley is an enrolled member of the Navajo Nation. She is passionate about and committed to building relationships with Arizona Native American communities to help address neurologic health inequities.
