Meet the Summer 2023 Undergraduate Interns
Barrow Neurological Institute is excited to welcome our newest undergraduate summer interns. These bright minds will join our research laboratories and other areas of the Institute as part of our Summer Undergraduate Internship Program.
This paid internship program provides students from all over the world with the opportunity to work full time under the mentorship of a Barrow scientist or clinician, participating in basic or translational neuroscience studies. The students also attend weekly seminars and learn about career options in the neuroscience field. Research areas include neurodegenerative diseases, neuro-oncology, neurovascular disorders, and more. Interns are also working with our faculty in marketing, philanthropy, academic publishing, and neuro-rehabilitation.
The Program culminates in a full-day research symposium, during which students welcome a keynote speaker and present their work as either an oral presentation or a scientific poster.
“I am excited to welcome this year’s student cohort to the Barrow campus,” said Rita Sattler, PhD, who leads the Program, “and to provide them with a unique opportunity to participate in the Institute’s mission to better understand and treat neurological disorders.”
