Jennifer Robblee, MD, an associate professor in the Headache Medicine Division at Barrow, has been named a fellow of the American Headache Society (FAHS). This distinction recognizes Dr. Robblee’s excellence in and commitment to the headache medicine subspecialty.

Atkinson Chair for Research

Barrow Neurological Foundation has named Ruchira Jha, MD, MSc, the Atkinson Chair for Research. Dr. Jha, director of the Neurocritical Care Division at Barrow, performs clinical and translational research in neurotrauma and neurocritical care. She is particularly interested in developing a precision medicine approach to clinically important secondary injury processes, like brain swelling and hemorrhage progression, after acute brain injury.

The Creighton School of Medicine – Phoenix Campus Class of 2026 presented Barrow Associate Professor of Neurology Michael Robers, MD, MS, with the Distinguished Educator in Neurology Award and PGY-2 Neurology Resident Jahnavi Shriram, MD, with the Resident Teaching Scholar Award in Neurology. At their graduation ceremony, the 2026 Barrow Neurology Residency Program graduates presented Assistant Professor Bryan Franzen, DO, with the Inpatient Teacher of the Award and Associate Professor Timothy Fullam, MD, FAAN, with the Outpatient Teach of the Year Award. The awards recognize the faculty members’ commitment to and leadership in the education of young physicians.

Arizona Medical Association Poster Award

A poster highlighting research from the Barrow Neuro Analytics Center placed third in the clinical research category at the Arizona Medical Association (ArMA) Annual Meeting. The poster focused on a nationwide study of United States Medicare beneficiaries that explored the associations between urban and rural residence, drinking water sources, and Parkinson’s disease. The work was presented by Vishal Harnoor (pictured), a rising fourth-year student at Creighton University School of Medicine – Phoenix.

Newsweek has again named Barrow Neurological Institute one of the top hospitals in the country for neurological care. The No. 23 ranking for 2026 recognizes the Institute’s commitment to providing top-tier care for neurological conditions, specifically noting out expertise in Alzheimer’s disease, multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, neurological infections, brain tumor surgery, and epilepsy surgery.
