Department of Neuroradiology
Our Mission
The Department of Neuroradiology at Barrow Neurological Institute is made up of faculty attending neuroradiologists and neuroradiology fellows.
Our faculty neuroradiologists have a primary commitment to patient care. They work closely with faculty in the departments of neurology and neurosurgery to accurately diagnose neurological conditions and disorders and to provide and interpret follow up imaging.
Medical education also forms a core component of our department. We have a vibrant and robust neuroradiology fellowship program, and our faculty neuroradiologists are also involved in the Radiology Residency Program at Dignity Health St. Joseph’s Hospital and Medical Center.
Barrow is a major hub for neuroscience research, and our radiologists collaborate with physicians and scientists at Barrow and at a variety of other prestigious institutions on various academic projects. Our campus is also home to the Keller Center for Imaging Innovation, where PROPELLER MRI technology was developed.
The department is chaired by Dr. John Karis.
