
Barrow Psychology Symposium
Course Goal
The 2025 Barrow Psychology Symposium aims to provide critical updates for psychologists working with individuals experiencing a variety of medical conditions, including neurological diagnoses. The symposium will address present issues in ethics, integrated care, and neuroimaging to help inform clinical practice.
Course Learning Objectives
- Understanding Ethics in Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology
- Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of the principles and techniques that guide ethical decision making used in advocating for accessibility of services, coordinating with other care providers, and neuropsychological assessment, including the interpretation of cognitive testing results and their clinical relevance.
- Application of Neuropsychology and FMRI in Clinical Practice
- Participants will develop knowledge about the application of FMRIs and neuropsychological evaluation to improve clinical decision making, treatment planning, and patient care for individuals with neurological conditions.
- Exploring the Relationship of Psychology in Integrated Care
- Attendees will enhance their knowledge of the role that psychology plays in an integrated care setting and examine preliminary outcome data in evaluating anxiety and depression.
