Ayushi Chugh, MD, FAAN, is a neurologist in the Gregory W. Fulton ALS and Neuromuscular Disease Center and an associate professor in the Department of Neurology at Barrow Neurological Institute. She is also a clinical associate professor at Creighton University School of Medicine and a clinical assistant professor of neurology at the University of Arizona College of Medicine—Phoenix. She is dual board certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and in neuromuscular medicine by the American Board of Medical Subspecialties.

Dr. Chugh specializes in the management of myasthenia gravis, peripheral neuropathies, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), muscular dystrophy, and other neuromuscular disorders. Her dual board certification includes expertise in electromyography and nerve conduction studies. She is a fellow of the American Academy of Neurology and currently serves as Vice Chair of its Spine Section. She is also a member of the American Association of Neuromuscular and Electrodiagnostic Medicine.

Dr. Chugh earned her medical degree in India. She completed her neurology residency at Westchester Medical Center, the main teaching hospital of New York Medical College, in Valhalla, where she served as the academic chief resident in her final year. She subsequently completed a fellowship in neuromuscular medicine at the Hospital for Special Surgery at New-York Presbyterian/Weill Cornell Medical Center in New York City, where she was deeply involved in the care of patients with various neuromuscular disorders, especially in the ALS and muscular dystrophy clinics.

Dr. Chugh feels passionate about teaching neurology, and her interests include resident physician education. She has co-authored two self-published textbooks, “Electrodiagnostic Medicine Board Review Questions: 600+ Practice Questions and Detailed Answers for the AANEM, ABPN, and ABPMR Exams” and “Pitfalls and Solutions in Electrodiagnosis of Neuromuscular Disorders: A Guide to Accurate Interpretation and Reporting.” She is an avid writer with a keen interest in writing for health education portals, including Medscape, for which she has authored commentaries. Her writings explore the intersection of neuroscience, clinical reasoning, and the human experience of disease. She is also actively engaged in the American Academy of Neurology, where she contributes and volunteers in national educational initiatives.
