Lee S. Hwang, MD, is a neurosurgeon in the Department of Neurosurgery at Barrow Neurological Institute. She is board certified in neurosurgery by the American Board of Neurological Surgery.

Dr. Hwang specializes in the surgical treatment of complex conditions of the brain and spine, including brain and spinal tumors. She is a member of the American Association of Neurological Surgeons, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons, the Korean American Spine Society, the North American Spine Society, the Society of Neuro-Oncology, and Women in Neurosurgery.

Dr. Hwang earned her medical degree from University of Texas Southwestern Medical School. She completed her neurosurgery residency at Cleveland Clinic Foundation in Ohio and a fellowship in neurosurgical oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City, New York.

Dr. Hwang’s research interests lie in primary and metastatic brain tumors, spinal cord tumors, drug delivery for cancer, minimally invasive approaches for brain and spine surgeries, laser ablation therapy, and radiosurgery.
