Meet the Summer 2024 Undergraduate Interns at Barrow
Barrow Neurological Institute is excited to welcome the 2024 class of summer undergraduate interns, who are joining us from universities across the United States, as well as Mexico, Brazil, Greece, and Poland.
The Summer Undergraduate Internship Program at Barrow allows participants to immerse themselves in translational neuroscience laboratories, where they contribute to game-changing research under the mentorship of esteemed scientists and clinicians. Research areas include neurodegenerative diseases, neuro-oncology, neurovascular disorders, neurotrauma, neuroimaging, and more. Additionally, the Program welcomes interns in other areas of the Institute, such as marketing, philanthropy, academic publishing, and neuro-rehabilitation.
The paid, 10- to 12-week internship culminates in a full-day research symposium, where students present their work either as an oral presentation or a scientific poster.
“We look forward to welcoming the 2024 summer undergraduate student interns,” said Rita Sattler, PhD, who leads the Program. “This internship will provide the next generation of neuroscientists and clinicians with a unique opportunity to jumpstart their career and to hopefully ignite an everlasting passion for studying and treating brain diseases. We are excited and proud to be able to contribute to their education.”
