Parkinson’s Dance

About

This program is modeled, in part, after the DanceforPD® program, which was developed by the Mark Morris Dance Company based in Brooklyn, New York. Participants are empowered to explore movement and music in ways that are refreshing, enjoyable, stimulating, and creative.

The classes follow a traditional dance class format, beginning with seated warmup to increase blood circulation, then proceeding to standing work and connected movements which help with balance. The last part of the class is devoted to learning movement phrases that take dancers across the floor.

All new class participants must have an assessment prior to starting any exercise class. Registration is required for all classes. Call Patty Hatton at (602) 406-3840 or email Patrice.Hatton@DignityHealth.org to schedule an assessment or register for classes.
