    Finding the We in PD

Strengthening the Partnership Between Care Giver and Care Receiver

PD can be a formidable stressor in the life of a person with Parkinson’s disease, their spouse and or caregiver, and the entire family. When stress in unrelenting and the couple is unable to manage it effectively, and the stability of their relational bond may be threatened. This may result in diminished resilience. This workshop will concentrate on promoting a positive, constructive, collaborative couple relationship to forge resilience in order to bounce back and even bounce forward from adverse life changes.

Please note: For the purposes of our proposed program, a couple is defined as a dyad encompassing not only spouses but other members of the family or close friends. This program is supported by a community grant from the Parkinson’s Foundation.
