    Andrew George, PhD, is a assistant professor in the Department of Neurobiology at Barrow Neurological Institute. He is a member of the International Society for Neuroethology, The J.B. Johnston Club, and the Society for Neuroscience.

    Dr. George received his doctorate from The University of Texas and completed his fellowship from Washington University, both in Neuroscience.

    Dr. George’s research interests includes the role of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors (nAChRs) in addiction and neurodegenerative disease, sensory processing and temporal coding in vertebrate neural systems, cellular and molecular mechanisms that mediate neural intrinsic excitability, mechanisms of sensorimotor adaptation in vertebrates and the relationship between calcium signaling, neural activity and linear memory integration.
